I finally finished another UFO (Unfinished Object) the McCall Alister M8043 top inspired by Orseund open back top . Yay me!!
The true reason I procrastinated was all the changes/ hacks I was trying to make. I loved the top but I needed the back part closed. Simple right? Nope! As I was working, the actual pattern design wasn’t really designed to make my changes (Daahh). I made it work though.
Here was what I changed:
– added a peplum…because am over these crop tops
– made the neck band slimmer , had it overlap and added a hook eye and snaps to keep it in place.
– The facing that was supposed to be folded I chose to hem and leave for the overlap piece.
I can say I am content with the changes. Only tweak I will make is for the belt. I will add a little opening to get one of the belts through for a more seamless finish.
